It's come to this: Will you TOSC-ers please remind "Jamie" to turn his Best of LA copy in already? He's been M.I.A. these past few days. If any of you see him skulking around the proof reading room, for God's sake bug him about the four articles he owes me!
And to legitimize this post, I ask you: Is proof reading one word...or two?
Now now, let's not resort to personal attacks on TOSC. We're all about the love here.
1. Pat, I'm trying to bring the people along slowly. If I clue them in right now that apostrophes can also be used to denote plurals of numbers and letters, it'll blow they're minds. Baby steps.
2. "Proofreading" is one word. And, despite what some of my associates say, "copy editing" will now and forever be two words.

Does it make you mad that Fox's billboards for 'Til Death have the apostrophe upside-down, knowing that the guy who designed the ad and the proofreader who works for FOX both make more per week than the four TOSC-ers (and myself) combined?
